The President of Fiji, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, officially appointed His Excellency Kemueli Naiqama as the country’s new Ambassador to Japan during a ceremonial event held at State House. This significant occasion saw Ambassador-designate Naiqama take the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath for the Due Execution of Office, fulfilling requirements set forth by the Constitution.

The ceremony was attended by key figures, including the Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Ro Filipe Tuisawau, who concurrently holds the Ministerial portfolio for Public Works, Meteorological Services and Transport. Other notable attendees included the Acting Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Lesi Korovavala, senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and members of Ambassador Naiqama’s family.
