The Minister for Defence and Veterans Affairs, Pio Tikoduadua, has announced the appointment of Jesoni Vitusagavulu as Fiji’s Ambassador-designate to the State of Israel through social media, before the release of an official government statement. This move underscores Fiji’s proactive diplomatic efforts in the region.
This week, Tikoduadua, along with Permanent Secretary Mason Smith, held discussions with Vitusagavulu concerning Fiji’s peacekeeping roles in the Middle East. The talks focused on critical issues surrounding the protection and well-being of Fijian troops who are currently deployed there, particularly those located in the Golan Heights.
