Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced in Parliament that Vanuatu has generously gifted 44 acres of land to Fiji. This gesture is a reciprocal exchange for a parcel of land Fiji previously allocated to Vanuatu near My Suva Park. According to Mr. Rabuka, this exchange represents the enduring friendship and mutual respect shared between the two nations, underscoring their commitment to strengthening ties within the Pacific region.
During his address, Mr. Rabuka mentioned that last week, the Director-General of Vanuatu’s Ministry of Lands officially transferred the title of the land to Fiji’s Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs. The Prime Minister noted that the donated site includes two existing buildings that Fiji can utilize for various purposes, such as diplomatic, cultural, or community functions.
“The gesture from Vanuatu recognizes the strong bonds that unite our two nations,” Mr. Rabuka stated.
