Fiji Airways is poised to enhance its presence in the Australian market by launching new direct flights connecting the Gold Coast and Nadi, effective June 11, 2026. This service will operate three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, using the efficient Boeing 737 MAX 8, with a flight duration of just over three hours.

This new route is set to add around 53,000 seats to the market annually, significantly improving connectivity and travel options for leisure and business passengers. Paul Scurrah, Managing Director and CEO of Fiji Airways, reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to the Australian market with this expansion.

“The Gold Coast is a natural fit for Fiji Airways. It is a thriving hub for tourism, business, and major global events,” Scurrah remarked, pointing to the area’s rapid population and infrastructure growth as key factors in its potential. He underscored that this direct service would strengthen ties between Fiji and Australia, creating valuable travel opportunities for residents of both regions.

Travelers on either side of the Pacific stand to benefit greatly, as the new flights will provide Gold Coast residents with easier access to Fiji for both leisure and business, while improving accessibility for Fijians and other international guests to the Gold Coast. “As we pursue our vision to become the world’s happiest airline, we’re excited to bring that spirit to the Gold Coast,” Scurrah expressed, committing to deliver their award-winning service paired with the genuine warmth and hospitality that Fiji is celebrated for.

In celebration of this announcement, Fiji Airways is launching special introductory fares for round-trip journeys from Fiji to the Gold Coast starting at FJD$799, offering an enticing option for prospective travelers. This expansion not only marks a significant milestone for Fiji Airways but also brings a wave of optimism for regional travel, as stronger connections can enhance tourism and encourage cultural exchanges between the two destinations.
