Fiji Airways is set to expand its Australian network by introducing new direct flights between the Gold Coast and Nadi, starting from June 11, 2026. This new service will operate three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, utilizing the modern Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, which provides a flight duration of just over three hours.

The launch of this route is anticipated to add an impressive 53,000 seats to the market annually, enhancing connectivity and offering more travel opportunities for leisure and business passengers alike. Paul Scurrah, the Managing Director and CEO of Fiji Airways, emphasized the airline’s dedication to the Australian market with this new route.

“The Gold Coast is a natural fit for Fiji Airways. It is a thriving hub for tourism, business, and major global events,” Scurrah stated, highlighting the area’s population and infrastructure growth as factors that make it a vital part of Australia’s future. He added that this direct service would forge stronger connections between Fiji and Australia, unlocking significant travel opportunities for both regions.

This new link will benefit travelers on both sides of the Pacific, providing Gold Coast residents a quicker access point to Fiji for holidays and business, while also facilitating better access for Fijians and international visitors to the Gold Coast. “As we pursue our vision to become the world’s happiest airline, we’re excited to bring that spirit to the Gold Coast,” Scurrah noted, promising to pair their award-winning service with the genuine warmth and hospitality for which Fiji is renowned.

To celebrate this announcement, Fiji Airways is offering special introductory return fares from Fiji to the Gold Coast starting at FJD$799, making this an appealing opportunity for future travelers. This expansion not only represents a significant step for Fiji Airways but also injects optimism into regional travel, as stronger links foster better tourism prospects and cross-cultural connections.
