Fiji Airports Eyes World-Class Hub After Prestigious Award

Fiji Airports has recently earned a significant accolade, reinforcing its ambition to transform into a world-class aviation hub in the Blue Pacific. Chief Executive Officer Mesake Nawari expressed pride in this achievement as it aligns with the company’s strategic 10-year vision spanning from 2025 to 2034. He emphasized that this award underscores Fiji Airports’ commitment to effective governance, management, and an ongoing pursuit of excellence.

In a reflection of his team’s dedication, Nawari stated that the recognition was unexpected, especially since 2025 was initially intended as a preparatory year. He acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the board, management, and the planning and monitoring evaluation unit led by Manager Patrick Morel. Special thanks were also extended to Bob, Director of the Productivity Centre, and the FBEA team for their support.

Nawari further highlighted that the success of Fiji Airports is built upon collaboration within the aviation industry. He noted that insights gained from the FBEA process would be shared with partners to foster sustainability, promote gender equity, and ensure social inclusion. With a focus on enhancing customer experience, he reiterated that customer service is a central aspect of the company’s mission, reflecting the warm and welcoming spirit known as the “Bula spirit.”

Encouraging industry partners to participate in similar evaluations, Nawari stressed that external reviews are crucial for advancing progress within the sector. He conveyed excitement about the celebration of this award across the Fiji Airports family, viewing it as a shared milestone on their journey toward excellence.

This award is particularly timely as Nadi International Airport, managed by Fiji Airports, had earlier garnered similar accolades, including achieving Level One Accreditation for Customer Experience from Airports Council International. This distinction further cements the airport’s focus on enhancing passenger services while also aligning with its goals for sustainability and operational excellence. The optimistic outlook for Fiji Airports indicates a broader commitment to raising the standards of aviation in the region, ultimately benefitting not just travelers but also the social and economic fabric of the nation.
