FIFA has announced that Saturday’s play-in match to determine the final team for next month’s FIFA Club World Cup is almost sold out. Los Angeles FC, representing Major League Soccer, will compete against Mexico’s Club America at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. According to FIFA, general public tickets for the highly anticipated game have already sold out.
This match, set to commence at 10:30 p.m. ET, will be available for free livestream on DAZN, which is also set to broadcast the entire FIFA Club World Cup comprising a total of 63 matches globally at no cost.
The winner of this crucial play-in game will join Group D, competing alongside Brazilian champions Flamengo, Esperance Sportive de Tunisie from Tunisia, and English club Chelsea FC, who recently captured the UEFA Conference League title for the 2024-25 season.
This play-in situation arose due to the disqualification of Club Leon following a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The court dismissed appeals by CF Pachuca, Club Leon, and Asociación Liga Deportiva Alajuelense for breaching FIFA’s rules regarding multi-club ownership—both Leon and Pachuca are owned by the same organization, Grupo Pachuca.
