Feyenoord’s Europa League lineup shake-up ahead of Aston Villa clash

Feyenoord has announced its lineup for the home match against Aston Villa, set to kick off at 21:00 as part of the Europa League. Notably, Quinten Timber is unavailable due to a foot injury, and will be replaced in midfield by In-beom Hwang.

Timber’s injury has prompted coach Robin van Persie to select Hwang, who is recognized for his ability but may not be able to play the full match. Joining Hwang in the midfield will be Sem Steijn, who missed minutes last weekend due to illness. Luciano Valente will complete the trio in the center of the field.

The central defense will consist of Anel Ahmedhodžić and Tsuyoshi Watanabe. Ahmedhodžić returns after serving a suspension in the Eredivisie, having missed the recent match against FC Groningen. In a surprising decision, Jordan Bos will not start; instead, Gijs Smal has been chosen as the left-back, while Givairo Read takes up the position on the right.

Feyenoord’s lineup is as follows: Wellenreuther; Read, Ahmedhodžić, Watanabe, Smal; Hwang, Steijn, Valente; Hadj Moussa, Ueda, Sauer.

The substitutes for Feyenoord are Bijlow, Bossin, Nieuwkoop, Larin, Borges, Bos, Tengstedt, Diarra, Targhalline, Lotomba, Sliti, and Plug.

Feyenoord fans will be hoping for a strong performance against a challenging Aston Villa side, as the team seeks to secure key points in the group stage of the Europa League.
