Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White has returned to the team just in time for their game against the Las Vegas Aces scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m., broadcasted on ESPN. White had to miss the Fever’s recent match in Golden State due to personal reasons, which led assistant coach Austin Kelly to step in as acting head coach for the second time this season. The team’s coaching staff, which has a long history of collaboration, managed the transition smoothly.
White remarked on the strong bond within her coaching staff, stating, “Rima, Bri, Austin, and I have been working together for the better part of 10, 12 years,” highlighting their shared understanding of each other’s capabilities and strategies that contribute to the team’s framework for success. This camaraderie traces back to the 2012 Fever championship team, where they first came together.
In their last outing, the Fever encountered a setback, losing to the Valkyries 88-77. This brought Kelly’s record as a head coach to 1-1. The team then traveled directly to Las Vegas after the game.
White expressed her enthusiasm about rejoining the team, stating, “When you’re around the game, it’s something that pours back into you.” Her return is anticipated to bolster the team’s spirit and performance as they prepare for a challenging match against the Aces.
The Fever’s upcoming game is an opportunity for them to regroup and showcase their skills, emphasizing teamwork and commitment on and off the court.
