The Indiana Fever will host the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday, September 4, at 7:00 p.m. ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The game will be broadcasted on MeTV and CBS Sports Network.
Probable starters for the Indiana Fever (17-16) include guard Kelsey Mitchell, who averages 19.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game; guard Caitlin Clark, with averages of 18.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 8.4 assists; guard Lexie Hull; center Aliyah Boston, contributing 13.4 points and 9.0 rebounds; and forward NaLyssa Smith, who adds 11.1 points and 7.5 rebounds.
The Los Angeles Sparks (7-25) are expected to start guard Odyssey Sims, who averages 9.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 5.4 assists; forward Dearica Hamby, averaging 17.5 points and 9.8 rebounds; center Azurá Stevens; forward Stephanie Talbot; and forward Rickea Jackson, contributing 12.6 points and 3.8 rebounds.
In terms of player availability, Indiana’s Temi Fagbenie is listed as questionable due to a right shoulder issue. Los Angeles will be without Cameron Brink (left knee), Lexie Brown (Crohn’s), and Layshia Clarendon (mental health reasons).
The Fever are coming off two road victories and have clinched a postseason spot, posting a strong 5-1 record in August. Their last match against the Sparks was a win on May 24, where they achieved a 78-73 victory, with Mitchell and Boston leading the scoring.
In their previous encounter on May 28, the Sparks edged out the Fever 88-82, despite Clark’s impressive 30-point performance. Clark has recently excelled, setting a career-high with 31 points and 12 assists in a recent win against the Chicago Sky.
The Sparks are looking to improve their standing after a tough stretch, recently losing rookie Cameron Brink to an ACL injury. They managed to secure one win in August against the New York Liberty. Both Mitchell and Clark are among the top scorers in the league, while Hamby leads the Sparks in scoring and rebounding.
