The Indiana Fever, who recently celebrated their victory as the 2025 Commissioner’s Cup Champions, will be facing the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday, July 3, without star player Caitlin Clark. Clark is sidelined for her fourth consecutive game due to a lingering left groin injury, which had already kept her out of the Fever’s 74-59 win against the Minnesota Lynx in the Commissioner’s Cup final on July 1. This latest injury adds to her struggles this season, as she previously missed five games due to a quad injury last month.
Although the Fever have managed a record of 4-4 in Clark’s absence, the team is looking forward to her return. Clark, who is dedicated to her recovery, commented, “I’m doing everything I can to put myself in a position to play the next game every single time.” Head Coach Stephanie White has emphasized the importance of being cautious with Clark’s health, noting that the team is prioritizing her long-term wellness.
Clark’s previous absence due to a quad injury began on May 24 and she made a triumphant return on June 14, showcasing her skill with an impressive performance against the New York Liberty, where she scored 32 points.
The Fever previously faced the Aces on June 22, suffering an 89-81 defeat, where Clark tallied 19 points, 10 assists, and three rebounds. As the teams prepare for the rematch, the Fever will endeavor to build on their skills and teamwork, despite the challenge of playing without one of their top players.
The upcoming game is set to begin at 7 p.m. ET on July 3 and will be available for streaming on Prime Video.
Caitlin Clark continues to rank second in the WNBA for assists per game, demonstrating her impact on the court even during her time away from play. While the Fever face uncertainties without their star, there remains hope that their collective effort and depth will shine through, reinforcing their determination as they navigate through this challenging season.
