Fetty Wap, known for his breakout hit “Trap Queen,” has been released early from prison after serving over three years due to a drug trafficking conviction. The rapper, whose real name is Willie Junior Maxwell II, is now under home confinement, having been transferred on January 7, 2026, from the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Sandstone to a community confinement facility overseen by the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) in Philadelphia.

His supervision period will continue until November 8, with terms including strict oversight and regular reporting to ensure compliance with federal rules. Upon his release, Fetty expressed gratitude towards his family, friends, and fans for their unwavering support. He stated his focus is now on community initiatives aimed at helping at-risk youth through education, technology skills, and vision care, emphasizing his commitment to making a positive difference.

Fetty Wap was part of a drug trafficking organization implicated in the distribution of over 100 kilograms of various drugs, including cocaine and heroin, across Long Island and New Jersey. Court documents revealed that between June 2019 and June 2020, the group transported narcotics from the West Coast using hidden compartments in vehicles and the U.S. Postal Service. Fetty was identified as a kilogram-level redistributor for the operation.

He was arrested in October 2021 in Queens before a scheduled performance at Rolling Loud NYC. Investigations led to the seizure of around $1.5 million in cash, numerous drugs, and firearms. Despite pleading not guilty in August 2022 and posting a $500,000 bond, Fetty Wap faced revocation of his bond due to alleged violations, resulting in a six-year sentence in May 2023 and five years of supervised release following his time in federal prison.

As he transitions back into society, Fetty Wap’s commitment to his community could serve as a hopeful turn in his narrative, aiming to uplift others while rebuilding his life after incarceration.
