Fetterman Hospitalized After Fall; Doctors Monitor Heart Condition

Senator John Fetterman was hospitalized as a precautionary measure after experiencing a fall while taking a morning walk near his residence in Braddock, Pennsylvania. His office confirmed Thursday that Fetterman sustained injuries to his face during the incident and was diagnosed with a “ventricular fibrillation flare-up,” indicating issues with his heart’s ability to pump blood effectively.

Fetterman, who previously suffered a stroke in 2022 prior to his Senate election, is under routine observation at the hospital. His team reported that he is doing well and has chosen to remain in the hospital for doctors to adjust his medication regimen. “Senator Fetterman is grateful for the EMTs, doctors, and nurses who are providing his care,” the office said in a statement.

The 56-year-old senator experienced light-headedness from the fall and has sustained some minor injuries. In a light-hearted take on his situation, Fetterman humorously remarked, “If you thought my face looked bad before, wait until you see it now!”

This incident occurred shortly after the release of his memoir, “Unfettered,” which details his struggles with various health issues, including a battle with depression during his time in office. Fetterman’s resilience and openness about his health journey continue to resonate with many, serving as a reminder of the importance of addressing personal challenges head-on.
