Following the Barcelona tests, the team will advance to the official Bahrain tests, where the more representative Spec B will make its debut. Auto Motor und Sport has reported that Ferrari is experimenting with an innovative cylinder head design for its new 2026 power unit. According to sources, engineers at Maranello have been testing both traditional aluminum and a heavier steel alloy version, with the latter allowing for elevated pressure and temperature levels under the new fuel and boost regulations. The increased minimum engine weight for 2026 has seemingly made this adjustment feasible, and Ferrari appears poised to shift its focus entirely to the steel design, citing confidence in its durability.
