From October 1 to 4, FEMA specialists will be available at the Downtown Hardware Hank store located at 816 Third Ave., Sheldon, Iowa, between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Visitors can engage with these experts to gain insights on various topics, including effective strategies to safeguard against future disasters, methods for rebuilding, and suggestions for minimizing disaster risks for both homeowners and renters.

Support is accessible to all homeowners, irrespective of their storm-related experiences. For inquiries regarding home safety, individuals can contact the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Helpline at 833-336-2487.

FEMA assistance is also available for residents and business owners in several counties, including Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Humboldt, Lyon, Monona, O’Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, Plymouth, Pottawattamie, Scott, Sioux, and Woodbury. This assistance includes grants for temporary housing, home repairs, and other necessities resulting from disaster-related damages.

Disaster recovery support is provided without discrimination based on race, color, religion, nationality, sex, age, disability, English proficiency, or economic status.
