FEMA Offers Free Home Safety Resources in Iowa: Are You Prepared?

Des Moines, Iowa — FEMA is offering free resources to help homeowners strengthen and secure their residences, regardless of whether they sustained damage from this summer’s severe storms.

From October 1 to 4, FEMA representatives will be at the Downtown Hardware Hank store located at 816 Third Ave., Sheldon, Iowa, available from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Visitors can interact with FEMA specialists at local home improvement stores to get answers to their queries and discuss various topics, including:

– Effective strategies to prevent damage from future disasters.
– Techniques for reconstructing homes.
– Advice on how to minimize disaster risk for both homeowners and renters.

Assistance is accessible to all homeowners, not just those impacted by the recent storms. For inquiries on enhancing home safety, individuals can reach out to the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Helpline at 833-336-2487.
