From October 1 to 4, FEMA specialists will be available for consultations at the Downtown Hardware Hank store, located at 816 Third Ave., Sheldon, Iowa, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
Visitors can speak directly to FEMA representatives to get answers to their questions on a variety of topics, including:
– Effective strategies for preventing future damage.
– Best practices for rebuilding homes.
– Advice on minimizing disaster risks for both homeowners and renters.
This support is accessible to all homeowners, not just those who were directly affected by the recent storms. For additional guidance on enhancing home safety, individuals can contact the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Helpline at 833-336-2487.
Residents of Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Humboldt, Lyon, Monona, O’Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, Plymouth, Pottawattamie, Scott, Sioux, and Woodbury counties who suffered flood damage or incurred storm-related expenses may qualify for FEMA assistance. This assistance may include grants for temporary housing, home repair, and other disaster-related needs.
