To commemorate its 125th anniversary and the 30th anniversary of its Foundation, FC Barcelona has launched a heartfelt charity campaign under the banner of ‘More than a Club,’ which emphasizes the pride of being a Barça fan. This initiative highlights the ‘Polseres Blaugranes’ (Blaugrana wristbands) project, aimed at enhancing the welfare and quality of life for children and young adults in hospitals and those receiving palliative care at home.

The campaign features a video with appearances from various figures associated with the club, including FC Barcelona and Foundation President Joan Laporta, Dr. Marta Segú, General Director of the Barça Foundation, the club’s new mascot CAT, and Albert Espinosa, the renowned creator of the TV series “Polseres Vermelles.” This coalition of athletes and key institutional figures aims to unite the Barça community around a charitable cause.

Set against a backdrop of different Christmas scenes, the video portrays participants showcasing the blaugrana wristbands, symbolizing the club’s commitment to supporting children facing serious health challenges. These wristbands embody more than just a fashion accessory; they metaphorically represent the supportive ties among athletes and the community’s resolve to help vulnerable youth.

The ‘Polseres Blaugranes’ project collaborates with children’s hospitals in Catalonia and beyond, focusing on humanizing care for young patients. The initiative seeks to improve the emotional well-being of hospitalized children and their families by creating nurturing environments during difficult times while complementing conventional medical care with innovative treatments.

Albert Espinosa, a childhood cancer survivor himself, will serve as an ambassador for the project, sharing his experiences and helping to shape various initiatives aimed at those affected by illness.

The blaugrana wristbands will be available for purchase on December 20 for €9.99, with proceeds directed entirely to the Foundation’s projects. While delivery is scheduled for late January, the campaign emphasizes the broader impact of community support, uniting fans and athletes in a noble cause.
