FC Barcelona Unites for Hope: Discover the Meaning Behind the Blaugrana Wristbands!

This year marks a momentous milestone for FC Barcelona as they celebrate both their 125th anniversary and the 30th anniversary of the FC Barcelona Foundation. In light of this momentous occasion, the club has launched a charity campaign that embodies their mantra of “More than a Club,” reinforcing their deep-rooted commitment to supporting the community and inspiring pride among fans.

The focus of the campaign is on the ‘Polseres Blaugranes’ (Blaugrana wristbands), an initiative from the FC Barcelona Foundation aimed at enhancing the welfare and quality of life for children and young adults facing health challenges, particularly those in hospitals and those receiving palliative care at home. The wristbands serve as a potent symbol of solidarity and hope for those in difficult circumstances.

The promotional video for the campaign features notable figures from the FC Barcelona family, including members of the professional teams, club president Joan Laporta, Dr. Marta Segú, the director of the Barça Foundation, the new mascot CAT, and esteemed director and writer Albert Espinosa, known for his work on the popular series “Polseres Vermelles.” This gathering of athletes and leaders highlights the unity within the Barça community around this charitable initiative.

Throughout the video, participants showcase the blaugrana wristband, which represents the collective desire of the community to uplift children and young individuals facing health struggles. Each wristband reflects the commitment of the club to fight alongside these young warriors, much like the laces on the boots of the athletes embody their spirit.

The ‘Polseres Blaugranes’ project collaborates with children’s hospitals in Catalonia and across the globe, aiming to humanize the care provided to young patients and alleviate their emotional distress during hospital stays. The program also emphasizes the importance of creating nurturing environments that support both medical treatment and emotional well-being.

Espinosa, a childhood illness survivor, will serve as an ambassador for the project, sharing his journey and guiding initiatives designed for young patients. This personal touch adds a relatable element to the campaign and underscores the importance of community support.

Starting from December 20, the blaugrana wristbands will be available for purchase at €9.99 through the official FC Barcelona stores and online, with all proceeds directed to support the Foundation’s initiatives.

This campaign not only reinforces FC Barcelona’s legacy of charitable involvement but also represents a united effort to instill hope in those facing challenging health battles. It’s a reaffirmation that even in their toughest moments, children and young adults are not alone—there is a community standing with them, embodied by the spirit of FC Barcelona.
