FC Barcelona has officially opened its second Barça Store in Madrid, coinciding with the first team’s trip for the Rayo Vallecano match. The ceremony was attended by president Joan Laporta, vice-president Rafa Yuste, and directors including Josep Ignasi Macià and Joan Soler. The newly launched store, located at C/Arenal 9, joins the first store that opened in December 2022 and has shown impressive sales performance.
The new store spans 140 square meters and is situated on the first floor of Terminal 4 at Madrid Barajas Airport. With this addition, FC Barcelona becomes the only football club with a proprietary store in this major Spanish airport, which serves the highest number of passengers in the country. The store aims to cater to Barça fans globally, offering a range of products from first-team kits to exclusive merchandise for all ages.
This latest opening brings the total number of proprietary Barça Stores to 14, with eight being established during the 2022/23 season alone. These stores include prominent locations in Barcelona, such as Canaletes, Passeig de Gràcia, and Sagrada Família. Additionally, Barça operates stores in El Corte Inglés and has franchises in locations like Palma, Salou, Platja d’Aro, and Ronda Universitat in Barcelona.
In June 2018, the Club took direct control over its merchandising, launching Barça Licensing & Merchandising (BLM) to better manage the brand and pursue global retail expansion. The Barça Store in T2 of Barcelona airport was recently relocated to a more accessible position, enhancing convenience for travelers looking to purchase Barça merchandise.
