A tragic accident occurred today (Thursday) on Highway 40 near the Tlalim intersection, resulting in the death of a woman in her 40s. Emergency services received reports of the serious collision between a private vehicle and a truck, prompting a rapid response. Medical teams had to confirm the woman’s death at the scene.

Volunteers from ZAKA’s Negev-Dimona unit were dispatched to the scene to ensure the respectful treatment of the deceased and to gather evidence for further investigation.

Responding volunteers, Roi Gartler from the Rhetmim team and Yishai Shankolovski from the Regional unit, described the harrowing scene: “Upon arrival, we were confronted with very distressing sights. The private vehicle was completely wrecked, and a woman in her 40s was trapped inside, suffering from multiple traumatic injuries. Unfortunately, the medical teams were forced to declare her dead on the spot. Additionally, a man in his 40s was transported to the hospital in critical condition, as he was unconscious with a head injury. The truck driver was treated for minor injuries.”

The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. This incident underscores the critical importance of road safety and serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the potential dangers on the road.
