A man has been taken into custody after reportedly admitting to fleeing the scene of a fatal motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a 27-year-old woman early on Saturday morning, as confirmed by the Richardson Police Department.
Around 4:50 a.m., officers responded to a crash involving a motorcycle in the 2400 block of North Central Expressway. The victim, identified as Cody Morris from Plano, was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial investigations revealed that no other vehicles or individuals were present at the crash site.
About 50 minutes later, a call was received by the Plano Police Department from 25-year-old Kelvin Joseph Jr., a resident of Allen, who confessed to his involvement in the incident. Police later determined that Joseph had been driving a BMW northbound on the expressway when the collision occurred with Morris’s motorcycle. During questioning, officers reported observing signs suggesting that Joseph was intoxicated.
He has since been arrested and faces charges of driving while intoxicated and causing a collision that resulted in personal injury or death. Details regarding his bond remain undisclosed.
