Fast food leader McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo cited by Bloomberg, most McDonald’s locations across the United States will continue to offer this promotion, which was originally set to last four weeks from its launch on June 25.

The meal deal will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some restaurants planning to maintain the deal until August.

This move comes at a time when many consumers are facing rising food prices in the casual dining sector, making the McDonald’s bundle more appealing. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a noticeable increase in visits to McDonald’s locations shortly after the introduction of the bundle, indicating its popularity among customers.

In response to McDonald’s success, other fast casual dining chains are introducing their own competitive offers. Arby’s has launched a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box, alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Similarly, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle will remain available longer than the McDonald’s deal. The chain is also expected to introduce new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also participated in the promotional space with a $3 breakfast bundle and a new $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
