McDonald’s is extending its $5 meal deal promotion for several more weeks, as reported by Bloomberg, referencing a memo from the fast-food giant. Most locations in the U.S. have agreed to keep the promotion, which initially started on June 25.

The deal will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some extending offers through August.

In light of rising food costs, especially in fast casual dining, the $5 bundle has proven successful for McDonald’s, attracting consumers looking for budget-friendly options. Foot traffic analysis by Placer.ai revealed a significant increase in customers following the launch of this promotion, indicating its popularity.

The successful deal has also prompted competitors to respond. Arby’s introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box available for a limited time, alongside a $5 Taco Discovery Box and its Cravings Value Menu.

In addition, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available longer than McDonald’s promotion, and new items are being added as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also participated in the competition with a $3 breakfast bundle and has introduced a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
