McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks following its launch on June 25. According to a memo cited by Bloomberg, most of its U.S. locations will continue to offer the promotion, although the duration may differ by restaurant, with some continuing the deal into August.

Amid rising food prices that have left many consumers struggling, this meal bundle has proven beneficial for McDonald’s. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a significant increase in customers visiting the chain’s restaurants shortly after the deal was introduced, indicating its favorable reception among diners.

The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted responses from other fast casual dining chains. In an effort to compete, Arby’s has launched a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has instituted a permanent value menu priced at $1.99. Taco Bell is also participating by offering a $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time, along with its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and a Cravings Value Menu.

In a related move, Burger King extended its $5 “Your Way Meal” beyond the initial promotional period, while also introducing new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s has introduced its own deals, including a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
