McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, according to a memo from the fast-food giant. This promotion, which began on June 25, will continue to be available at approximately 93% of its U.S. locations, although the duration of the offer may differ by restaurant. Some locations may continue the deal until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, especially in the fast-casual dining sector, this promotion has proven beneficial for McDonald’s. A recent report from foot traffic analytics company Placer.ai indicated that the introduction of this deal led to a significant increase in customer visits across McDonald’s outlets, demonstrating strong consumer interest.

The success of McDonald’s meal deal has prompted other fast-casual chains to respond with their own promotions. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box as well as a $5 Taco Discovery Box, in addition to its existing Cravings Value Menu.

Burger King also extended its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle beyond the initial timeframe. The chain recently introduced new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s has joined the promotional frenzy with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
