McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, following a successful launch that began on June 25. According to a memo, most U.S. McDonald’s locations will continue offering the promotion, which is available in approximately 93% of restaurants nationwide. The duration of the offer may vary by location, with some franchises continuing it through August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in fast casual dining, the meal bundle is proving effective for McDonald’s. Foot traffic analytics from Placer.ai indicate a significant increase in customer visits after the promotion’s introduction, suggesting that the deal is resonating well with patrons.

The success of McDonald’s $5 meal has prompted other fast casual chains to respond with their own promotions. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell is offering a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” will be available for a longer duration than McDonald’s deal, and it has introduced new items in its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also joined the trend, offering a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
