Fans Urged to Back Fiji’s Military Football Team Ahead of Sukuna Bowl

The Republic of Fiji Military Force football team is urging fans and supporters to stand behind them as they gear up for the Sukuna Bowl tournament next week. Head coach Penaia Latianara emphasized the importance of fan presence in boosting the team’s motivation as they aim to bring home the title this year.

Latianara noted that the players have been rigorously training and are eager to hit the field. He mentioned, “Right now the team is going hard during training; we still have a few players slowly joining the team due to work commitments. However, I believe we will have all the boys together by the end of this week to continue our preparations with just a few days left.”

The Sukuna Bowl week kicks off on Monday and runs until the end of the week, featuring a variety of athletic competitions. Notably, the men’s soccer match will take place on Thursday, followed by men’s and women’s rugby matches on Friday, all of which will be broadcast live on FBC Sports. Fans located outside Fiji can stream these matches via www.viti.plus for a fee of $99.

This year’s Sukuna Bowl is particularly significant as it brings together not just football but a wide array of sporting events like rugby, boxing, and netball, fostering community engagement and unity among Fijians. The excitement surrounding the tournament serves as a reminder of the spirit of competition and camaraderie that such events inspire among supporters and participants alike.

In addition to the sports festivities, officials emphasize the themes of unity and resilience that the Sukuna Bowl embodies. The event showcases the dedication of teams and communities to work together, with aspirations for fostering positive social change. As the tournament approaches, anticipation builds for a week of competitive spirit and celebration among families and fans alike.
