MILLCREEK — After the alarming arrest of a 23-year-old man, Dominic Christopher Garcia, for allegedly holding a Millcreek family of seven hostage for approximately six months, local authorities are continuing their investigation into the disturbing situation.
Garcia faces serious charges including seven counts of aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, making threats of violence, and hazing involving a dangerous weapon. According to Unified Police, he created an oppressive environment by claiming he was connected to a dangerous cartel that would harm the family if they disobeyed him.
The ordeal began when Garcia began dating one of the adult daughters of the family in November and moved in with them in early 2025. Almost immediately, he imposed strict controls, allowing the family members to leave the house only briefly each day under threats of retaliation from the supposed cartel. Police Sgt. Aymee Race highlighted that the family’s fear was rooted in Garcia’s claims and his constant possession of a weapon.
