Family Divide: Minnesota Governor’s Kin for Trump!

An image that has been making the rounds online depicts family members of Minnesota Governor and vice presidential candidate Tim Walz openly endorsing former President Donald Trump. The photo was posted by Charles Herbster, a former Republican candidate for governor in Nebraska, and features eight individuals wearing shirts that read “Nebraska Walz’s for Trump.”

Herbster commented on the post, stating, “Tim Walz’s family back in Nebraska wants you to know something…”

According to a spokesperson for Herbster, the people in the image are related to Walz through his great-uncle, Francis Walz. Family members expressed to Fox News that they view themselves as “distant” from Walz and have never met him. One anonymous family member explained their support for Trump by saying, “he supports our values.”

Trump responded to the image on Truth Social, suggesting plans to “meet” with Jeff Walz, the Minnesota governor’s older brother. Jeff has made several statements on social media regarding the Democratic vice presidential nominee. He revealed in a Facebook post that he is “100% opposed to all his ideology.”

Jeff also expressed dissatisfaction over not being notified about his brother’s selection as Kamala Harris’s running mate, mentioning that his family learned of the decision through the radio.

A Trump supporter commented on Jeff’s post, urging him to publicly endorse Trump, to which Jeff replied that he is considering it but is conflicted about involving his family.

Governor Walz has three siblings: Jeff, Craig, and Sandy Dietrich. After growing up in rural Nebraska, Jeff moved to the East Coast and currently resides in Florida. He reflected on how he found out about his brother’s nomination, stating he felt they should have received prior notice and some security due to the significance of the situation.
