Fairfest Media, the esteemed organizer behind the prominent OTM travel show in Asia, has officially acquired WTE Miami, a rapidly growing travel trade show in the United States. This acquisition represents a significant advancement in Fairfest’s global expansion strategy, enhancing its presence in the Americas while capitalizing on its vast experience and reputation built over decades in Asia and India.
Since its inception in 2022, WTE Miami has quickly become a critical platform for the travel and tourism industry, hosted at the Miami Beach Convention Center with support from Miami International Airport (MIA), Miami-Dade County, and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. The show has attracted a multitude of participants, including major airlines like American Airlines, Avianca, and Delta, as well as national tourism organizations from various countries such as Colombia, Ecuador, and Spain. This showcases WTE Miami’s role in the international travel landscape and highlights its importance for business networking and development opportunities.
The 2025 edition of WTE Miami featured over 300 exhibitors and attracted around 3,500 industry attendees, including hosted buyers, setting a promising stage for future events. Plans for WTE Miami 2026 aim to significantly expand the show, potentially doubling its size. This growth is designed to enhance the B2B travel trade show experience and create even more opportunities for return on investment for participants in Miami, known as a vibrant multicultural gateway to the Americas.
Fairfest collaborates with tourism boards, national tourism organizations, airlines, and hotel chains across more than 80 countries. The organization has built a robust network over three decades, engaging over 15,000 travel brands and welcoming 100,000 professionals from more than 120 countries to its events.
Sanjiv Agarwal, Chairman & CEO of Fairfest Media, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “We are excited to welcome WTE Miami to the Fairfest portfolio. WTE is rightly positioned as a global travel tradeshow serving the US as the world’s largest travel market, and we already see a 100% growth potential in 2026, leveraging the synergies.”
Javier P. Palencia, Director of WTE Miami, echoed Agarwal’s optimism, highlighting the benefits of combining efforts under the Fairfest umbrella. He noted the potential to significantly increase the show’s reach and performance, ensuring a continuity of benefits for all exhibitors and participants. The intent is to double both exhibitors and attendees for the upcoming 2026 edition.
Set in an increasingly popular travel destination, the next WTE Miami will be held on October 27–28, 2026, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. This anticipated event promises to explore new avenues in travel and tourism, enhance B2B networking opportunities, and provide a platform for thought-leadership in the industry, ushering in a new era for one of the most vibrant travel events in North America.
