Bleecker Street has officially unveiled the first trailer for “Fackham Hall,” a comedic spoof set to hit theaters this December. This laugh-out-loud film takes a humorous jab at the beloved series “Downton Abbey,” which wrapped its storyline earlier this year with “Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale” in September. The film promises a refreshing take on period dramas, filled with outrageous wit and clever satire.
The plot revolves around Eric Noone, a lovable pickpocket portrayed by Ben Radcliffe, who forms an unlikely romance with Rose Davenport, the youngest daughter of a prominent British family, played by Thomasin McKenzie. Complications arise as Eric is accused of murder and faces off against Archibald, a rival in love, while the Davenport family, helmed by Lord and Lady Davenport, wrestles with the fallout of their eldest daughter’s disastrous wedding.
With memorable lines such as, “Tea will be spilled. Crumpets will be crumpeted,” “Fackham Hall” has been described as a cross between “Downton Abbey” and the classic spoof “Airplane!” The film features an ensemble cast that includes Katherine Waterston, Tom Felton, and Damian Lewis, among others. Directed by Jim O’Hanlon, known for his work on “Catastrophe” and “Your Christmas or Mine?,” the film promises to deliver plenty of laughs, driven by a screenplay co-written by comedian Jimmy Carr.
Set for release on December 5, 2025, “Fackham Hall” aims to revive the spoof genre with its cleverly ridiculous humor and offbeat charm. Fans of period dramas and comedies alike can look forward to a fun-filled cinematic experience that offers a light-hearted escape from reality.
