Extra Bula FC striker Christopher Wasasala is optimistic about the team’s progression following a challenging second round campaign in Papua New Guinea. Despite the hardships imposed by security measures, which restricted player movement primarily to their hotel except for training and matches, Wasasala believes the squad has managed to adapt and build both confidence and consistency.

Reflecting on his experiences during the second round, Wasasala noted a significant improvement in the team’s performance compared to the first round. He expressed confidence that the players are learning from their mistakes and growing stronger as a unit. “I think during this second round I’ve learned a lot. The boys have improved a lot from the first round. We are learning from our mistakes and the team is coming stronger slowly,” he stated.

Wasasala emphasized that the strenuous conditions encountered in PNG were not used as excuses. “It was a challenge for us too. PNG is a different atmosphere. But it was not an excuse. The boys adapted well,” he remarked.

He pinpointed consistency as a critical focus for the team moving forward. “It’s just consistency for the boys. We have to adapt to all the games we face, the challenges, and the type of game we’re playing. I think the boys have improved a lot game by game,” Wasasala added.

As the team prepares for their next match against Vanuatu United, Wasasala anticipates an increase in intensity. Football enthusiasts can catch the match live on FBC 2, offering a great opportunity to witness the growth of Extra Bula FC. With a positive outlook and a commitment to improvement, the team looks forward to demonstrating their progress in the coming matches.
