An explosion at a nursing home in Bristol, Pennsylvania, has left multiple individuals injured. The incident took place on Tuesday, December 23, at approximately 2:15 p.m. at the Silver Lake Nursing Home located at 905 Tower Road. The Bensalem Volunteer Fire Department reported that the explosion and subsequent fire originated in the building’s basement.

The fire escalated to a two-alarm response, indicating the severity of the situation. While a Bucks County spokesperson confirmed injuries, specifics regarding the number of injured individuals and their conditions have not yet been disclosed. The explosion and fire also resulted in a partial collapse of the structure.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, including firefighters from Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania, as well as Burlington County in New Jersey. A nurse employed at the nursing home shared with NBC10 that the facility typically houses around 50 residents, whose ages range from 50 to 95. Interestingly, she noted that she was late arriving for her shift that day, highlighting the unpredictable nature of such disasters.

Expressing her concerns, the nurse emphasized the importance of human life, stating, “The building can be renovated, rebuilt, but humans cannot be rebuilt. I just pray that we all come out of this in one piece.”

The situation is still developing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available. The community remains hopeful for the recovery of those affected.
