The Adrian District Library is set to host a special event titled “In the Shadow of the Raven,” from 3 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 6. This unique presentation celebrates the life of renowned American writer Edgar Allan Poe, known for his poetry and macabre short stories.
Broadway and film veteran Duffy Hudson will perform a one-man play that vividly brings Poe to life. As the play unfolds, Poe rises from the scene of his mysterious death and recounts the significant events of his life. The performance incorporates biographical information along with dramatic interpretations of some of Poe’s most famous works, including “Annabel Lee,” “The Raven,” and “The Tell-Tale Heart.” Hudson aims to provide a deep theatrical experience that explores the complexities of one of America’s most enigmatic figures.
The event will take place in the community room at the Adrian District Library, located at 143 E. Maumee St. Doors open at 2:45 p.m., and there is no admission fee or registration required.
