Gears of War Reloaded is set to officially launch on August 26, but enthusiastic players will not have to wait that long to experience the action. The game will hold two multiplayer beta tests, kicking off this weekend, and invitations are currently being sent out.
There are several ways to secure access to the beta. Preordering Gears of War Reloaded is one option, while those with Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass memberships will also gain entry. Additionally, individuals who purchased the digital edition of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition before May 5 are eligible to receive a beta code. The beta tests will be accessible across Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
For those curious about the specifics of the beta, it is a remastered version of the first Gears of War game originally released in 2006. Although there was previously a remaster in 2015, titled Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Reloaded promises further technical enhancements to enhance the gameplay experience.
Upcoming beta dates are as follows:
**Weekend 1:** Starting Friday, June 13 at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET and concluding Sunday, June 15 at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET.
**Weekend 2:** Begins Friday, June 20 at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET and wraps up Sunday, June 22 at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET.
The beta will be available on various platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Windows PC, Steam, and Nvidia GeForce Now. Players using PCs should ensure their systems meet the minimum specifications, which include 8GB of RAM, specific Intel or AMD processors, and adequate graphics capabilities.
During Weekend 1, participants can engage in Team Deathmatch across three maps: Gridlock, Raven Down, and Gold Rush. Weekend 2 will expand the offerings, maintaining Team Deathmatch while introducing new maps such as Courtyard and War Machine, as well as the King of the Hill mode on the Canals map.
The Gears of War Reloaded beta will also support cross-play and cross-progression, allowing gamers on different platforms to play together. To utilize these features, players will need to create and link a Microsoft Account. Notably, cross-play can be managed through the game’s settings.
As an added incentive, everyone who preorders Reloaded, along with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members, will receive two exclusive multiplayer skins: Adam Fenix and Anya Stroud, which will be available upon the game’s launch.
The anticipation surrounding Gears of War Reloaded is palpable, and this beta phase provides an excellent opportunity for fans to dive into the action and prepare for the full release later this summer.
