Deadpool has made a return, and he’s doing it with flair.
Today, Xbox revealed its collaboration with Marvel Entertainment’s Deadpool to release a special edition wireless controller coinciding with the launch of Deadpool and Wolverine on July 26.
The uniquely designed Cheeky Controller, inspired by Deadpool’s distinct characteristics, cements Ryan Reynolds’ character as a standout in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This release is expected to generate considerable buzz, adding to the playful rivalry between Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
However, fans won’t find this exclusive controller in stores or online. It’s only available through a global sweepstakes detailed on Xbox Wire. To enter, followers need to follow Xbox’s X account, repost the official sweepstakes post, and wait until August 11 to discover if they’ve won.
For those who miss out on this exclusive, Xbox offers other themed hardware, including a Series X console featuring Deadpool’s red-and-black costume and foam versions of his katana blades, Bea and Arthur.
Starting July 22, the first 1,000 fans visiting the Microsoft Store to purchase an Elite Controller Series 2 Core will receive a unique Deadpool Controller Holder from EXG Pro.
The Xbox collaboration is part of Disney and Marvel’s extensive marketing campaign for Deadpool and Wolverine. Slated to reignite enthusiasm in the MCU after lukewarm responses from recent movies, this film continues the story six years after Deadpool 2, featuring Deadpool time-traveling across the Marvel timeline and encountering Wolverine and other beloved characters. It is the only major MCU release this year, with Captain America: Brave New World set to kick off the 2025 phase on February 14.
Xbox will also participate in the movie’s premiere on July 22 in New York City, streaming live interviews and coverage on its Twitch channel. Fans can expect to see plenty of Deadpool and Wolverine-themed merchandise, including the infamous popcorn buckets.
