The Santa Fe Opera has shared exciting updates regarding its 2025 season, highlighting notable changes in its upcoming productions. Andrew Moss has been appointed as the Fight and Intimacy Director for all five productions, and David Zimmerman will take on the role of Wig and Makeup Designer, ensuring an immersive experience for the audience.
In a notable shift, Emma Marhefka will debut at the company as Musetta in the much-anticipated production of “La Bohème.” She takes over from Emily Pogorelc, who has bowed out for family reasons. Additionally, Willem van Schalkwyk will enrich the production as the Children’s Chorus Director.
The company is also welcoming fresh talent in its rendition of “The Turn of the Screw.” Soprano Annie Blitz and treble Everett Baumgarten will make their company debuts as Flora and Miles, respectively. Jennifer Johnson Cano will perform as Mrs. Grose, stepping in for Christine Rice.
