Ex-Director Faces $500K Fraud Charge in Fiji Mining Firm Case

A former director of Rock-Hard Rock Mines & Quarries Pte Ltd, Wenjun Lin, is facing serious legal challenges as he is accused of fraudulently withdrawing $500,000 from the company’s accounts. The case was brought before Magistrate Sufia Hamza at the Suva Magistrate’s Court, where Lin faced a count of conversion.

According to allegations, Mr. Lin misappropriated the substantial sum by withdrawing it from a cheque account associated with the mining firm and subsequently depositing the money into his own company, Rong Fei Development Company Pte Limited. This alleged misconduct took place during the period from December 12, 2019, to December 31, 2021.

Senior State Lawyer Pooja Mishra represented the prosecution in court. Following the proceedings, Mr. Lin’s bail was extended, and the case has been adjourned until January 14, 2026, when a hearing date is expected to be established.

This case highlights ongoing concerns regarding financial accountability within companies and emphasizes the importance of legal proceedings in addressing and rectifying potential corporate misconduct. The upcoming months will be crucial as the situation develops.
