The beloved cast of “Everybody Loves Raymond” is reuniting in the Barone living room to celebrate the show’s 30th anniversary with a special that is set to air on November 24 at 8 p.m. on CBS, and will also be available for streaming on Paramount+.
Hosted by Ray Romano, the show’s star, alongside series creator Phil Rosenthal, the special will bring together iconic cast members including Brad Garrett, Patricia Heaton, Monica Horan, Madylin Sweeten, and Sullivan Sweeten. A poignant segment of the show will pay tribute to the late Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle, who portrayed Ray’s parents, Marie and Frank Barone.
Recently, Romano and Garrett had a nostalgic moment on the Emmys stage, where they delved into a humorous self-deprecating routine while presenting the award for best comedy series. Romano reflected, “It feels a little different to be on the Emmys stage tonight than it did then,” prompting Garrett to quip about the changes time has brought, jokingly mentioning the need for “compression socks” and “hearing aids.” The camaraderie underscored the enduring connection among the cast members, despite the passing years.
“Everybody Loves Raymond” premiered on CBS in 1996 and charmed audiences for nine seasons until its conclusion in 2005. The sitcom, centered on the life of an Italian American sports writer and his family on Long Island, garnered critical acclaim with 15 Emmy wins out of 69 nominations. Additionally, it maintained a light-hearted connection with “The King of Queens,” featuring Romano’s character in several crossover episodes.
This anniversary special promises not only nostalgia but also an opportunity for fans to relive the laughter and heartfelt moments that made the show a cultural staple, celebrating both the past and the enduring legacy of the series.
