Everton are engaging in discussions with Chelsea regarding the permanent transfer of midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. The club is looking to bolster its squad as the summer transfer window approaches its final weeks, especially following the departure of Abdoulaye Doucoure, whose contract expired this summer.
Chelsea, having previously signed Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City for around £30 million, is reportedly only interested in a permanent sale at the same fee. Other Premier League clubs have also shown interest, which could complicate Everton’s efforts.
Dewsbury-Hall had an inconsistent season in the Premier League, starting only two matches for Chelsea while primarily participating in the Conference League, where he notably contributed four goals as Chelsea claimed the title. Overall, he made a total of 31 appearances in his debut season with the club.
In an effort to strengthen their team, Everton manager David Moyes has already made some notable signings this summer, including Thierno Barry, Adam Aznou, and Mark Travers, while securing the permanent signing of Carlos Alcaraz. The club has also extended contracts for Jarrad Branthwaite and Idrissa Gueye. With more additions needed to enhance their squad depth, Everton has had discussions with Southampton concerning winger Tyler Dibling.
On the Chelsea front, the club has also reached an agreement with Burnley for the permanent transfer of midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu.
This dynamic will be interesting to watch as both clubs aim to reshape their rosters and adjust their strategies as the transfer window draws to a close. Everton, in particular, is looking to solidify its midfield and improve overall competitiveness for the upcoming season.
