Ethel Kennedy Hospitalized: Family’s Touching Message Revealed

Ethel Kennedy is currently hospitalized and receiving treatment following a stroke that occurred during her sleep, as shared by her grandson, Joe Kennedy III, in a post on X on Tuesday.

In his message, Kennedy stated, “She is comfortable, she is getting the best care possible, and she is surrounded by family.” He noted that the stroke happened on Thursday.

Ethel Kennedy is the widow of Robert Kennedy, who was assassinated in 1968 while campaigning for the presidency. Together, they raised 11 children, including Joseph Kennedy II.

Joe Kennedy III referred to his grandmother as “incredible,” highlighting in his message the strength and remarkable life she has led. He added, “We are here looking after her. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. We ask that you respect our family’s privacy at this time.”

Hyannisport, known as the Summer White House for President John F. Kennedy, holds significant emotional importance for the Kennedy family. It has been a gathering place for four generations, offering a space for family bonding, a sense of community, shared values, and the tranquility of the oceanfront.

Ethel Kennedy traditionally spends her summers in Hyannisport, where her children, grandchildren, and extended family gather whenever possible. For years, the family has organized a celebrity golf tournament in the area to benefit the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights organization.

Born on April 11, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois, Ethel is the daughter of coal magnate George Skakel and Ann Brannack Skakel, according to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.
