Eric Roberts has bid farewell to “Dancing With the Stars” following his elimination from the competition. The actor, who partnered with professional dancer Britt Stewart, shared his mixed feelings about the outcome during an exclusive chat in the ballroom.

“I got cut, which is unfortunate,” said Roberts, who danced a paso doble to Warrant’s “Cherry Pie” during Hair Metal Night. “But there’s a silver lining: I don’t have to learn another dance now.”

Stewart joined in on the conversation, teasing that Roberts would experience “a lot less stress, starting tomorrow!”

At 68, Roberts admitted he had never aimed to clinch the Season 33 Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. He entered the show at the behest of his wife, Eliza Roberts, a devoted fan of the series. “I’m participating because my wife loves this show. I never set out to compete against anyone; I just wanted to dance for her,” he remarked of his wife, with whom he has been married since 1992.

Eliza had her own special moment on the dance floor during Monday’s Soul Train Night when she joined her husband and Stewart for a foxtrot to Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together.” After the performance, Eric reached out to the audience to kiss his wife, a moment that Stewart planned to celebrate the couple’s enduring marriage.

“She truly is a part of Team Brightside,” Stewart said, referring to her and Roberts’ team name. “We wanted to honor her and their relationship.”

Looking ahead, Eric and Eliza plan to go on a double date with Stewart and her fiancé, Daniel Durant. The two dancers met during their pairing for Season 31.

Roberts had previously shared cheeky marriage advice with Stewart, although he had not elaborated on it during the live broadcast. However, on Tuesday night, he opened up more about his thoughts on relationships, emphasizing the importance of honesty and intimacy. “A happy marriage requires honesty… and sex,” he stated, with Stewart agreeing and adding that “if you’re having loads, you’re good to go.”

Eric Roberts, who is also the brother of actress Julia Roberts and father to Emma Roberts, tied the knot with Eliza in 1992. He and Stewart faced elimination alongside Reginald VelJohnson and Emma Slater after finishing at the bottom of the leaderboard.

The next couple to be eliminated will be announced when “Dancing With the Stars” returns for Dedication Night next Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+.
