Women’s basketball enthusiasts who missed the highly anticipated face-off between Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers in Dallas will soon have another chance. The Dallas Wings announced on Monday that their game against Clark and the Indiana Fever, originally set for August 1 at College Park Center in Arlington, will now take place at the American Airlines Center.
Fans who previously purchased tickets to the original venue will receive refunds. Moreover, Wings season ticket holders and buyers of group tickets from the Wings’ ticket office will have their seating relocated to a comparable section at the American Airlines Center.
Tickets are set to go on sale via Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. this Friday.
The previous encounter between the Wings and Fever at the American Airlines Center on June 27 saw a thrilling atmosphere, with a sellout crowd of 20,409 in attendance. Unfortunately, Clark was sidelined due to a groin injury, and the Wings lost the match 94-86.
Caitlin Clark, who had a stellar rookie season with the Fever, averaged 19.2 points and 8.4 assists, earning the title of 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year. This season, she’s continuing her impressive performance with averages of 18.2 points and 8.9 assists over nine games. On the other hand, Bueckers is making waves of her own, having been the only rookie selected as a WNBA All-Star starter last week. She currently leads all rookies in scoring (18.7 points), assists (5.7), and steals (1.8).
If all players are fit, the August 1 matchup could showcase the top overall picks from the last three WNBA drafts, with Bueckers (2025) from the Wings, Clark (2024), and Aliyah Boston (2023) from the Fever, making it a highly anticipated event for basketball fans.
The potential for these young stars to go head-to-head is thrilling, indicating a bright future for women’s basketball and an exciting season ahead for fans.
