The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is conducting a series of meetings in the Casper region to discuss proposed changes to regulations under Chapter 22, which pertains to Watercraft Regulations, and Chapter 46, which deals with Fishing Regulations.
The meetings will include presentations from fisheries managers, who will outline the proposals and address any questions from the public. There are two in-person meetings scheduled: one at the Casper Regional Office on May 12 at 6 p.m. and another at the Jeffrey Center in Rawlins on May 14 at 6 p.m.
For those unable to attend in person, a virtual meeting will take place on May 19 at 3 p.m. via Zoom. Participants can join using the link provided in the announcement.
The department encourages public feedback, allowing written comments to be submitted online by June 10, or via mail to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s office in Casper. These comments will be reviewed by the Game and Fish Commission during its public hearing, set for July 2025 in Evanston.
Proposed regulations are accessible on the Game and Fish website and the Casper office, adhering to transparency protocols regarding public record access.
This outreach initiative appears to be a valuable opportunity for community engagement, as local residents can contribute their opinions and suggestions regarding important regulations that affect both watercraft usage and fishing practices in Wyoming.
