Applications are currently being accepted for Pennsylvania’s fourth annual Equity in Early Childhood Champion Awards. This prestigious award aims to raise awareness and celebrate efforts in promoting equity within early childhood education settings across the state. These include programs related to child care, evidence-based home visiting, and early intervention.
Nominees for this award can be professionals or organizations that align with the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s (NAEYC) Advancing Equity in Early Childhood Education Position Statement. Pennsylvania honors those who have made significant strides in advancing equity by supporting children and their families and by embracing diversity and inclusion as core strengths. Nominees may also be recognized for their efforts in ensuring fairness and justice in education and addressing structural inequities that hinder equitable learning opportunities.
To qualify for nomination, applicants must illustrate how they or their programs have positively impacted children and families in these essential areas.
The deadline for submissions is set for 11:59 p.m. on Friday, January 24. Additional details and application information can be found on The Pennsylvania Key website.
This initiative highlights the importance of inclusivity and social justice in early childhood education, showcasing Pennsylvania’s commitment to providing equal opportunities for all children. It’s an inspiring reminder of the collective effort needed to foster an equitable environment in education, reflecting a hopeful future where every child can thrive regardless of their background.
