Applications are now open for the fourth annual Equity in Early Childhood Champion Awards in Pennsylvania. This award serves to raise awareness and celebrate the efforts made toward equity in early childhood education, which encompasses child care, evidence-based home visiting, and early intervention programs across the state.
Nominations are welcomed for individuals and organizations that are in alignment with the Advancing Equity in Early Childhood Education Position Statement established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Pennsylvania aims to recognize significant contributions made by professionals, organizations, and afterschool programs that champion equity and inclusion.
Nominees should illustrate their commitment to supporting children and families through practices that celebrate diversity, uphold fairness and justice, and actively work to dismantle systemic inequities that obstruct equal learning opportunities.
The deadline for applications is set for 11:59 p.m. on Friday, January 24. For additional details or to submit a nomination, please visit The Pennsylvania Key website.
This initiative highlights the ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive environment for all children, fostering hope for a future where educational opportunities are truly equitable for every child in Pennsylvania. The awards not only honor exceptional work but also encourage continued progress towards a more just educational landscape.
