Eminem is embracing a new chapter in his life as he prepares to become a grandfather. The rapper revealed the exciting news about his daughter Hailie Jade, 28, expecting her first child in a music video released on Thursday for his song “Temporary,” featuring Skylar Grey.
In a touching moment from the video, Jade, who is also an artist and podcaster, presents her father with a blue shirt that has “Grandpa” printed on the back. Eminem, visibly surprised, then holds a sonogram image while Jade beams with joy at his reaction.
The music video features a heartwarming compilation of childhood home videos of Jade alongside clips from her recent wedding to Evan McClintock. Eminem dedicates the song to Jade, featuring lyrics about life’s journey: “So Hailie Jade, I wrote this song to help you cope with life when I’m gone.”
Following the video’s release, Jade shared images of herself and McClintock looking at the sonogram on her Instagram, announcing that their baby is expected next year.
Jade and McClintock, who have been together since 2016, got engaged in February 2023 and tied the knot in May. Jade expressed her happiness on Instagram during their wedding, stating, “Waking up a wife this week. We couldn’t have asked for a better, more beautiful weekend celebration. So so many happy tears were shed, laughs & smiles were had, & so much love was felt.”
This marks the first child for Jade and McClintock.
