Eminem is embracing a new chapter in his life: becoming a grandfather.
The rapper shared the exciting news that his daughter Hailie Jade, aged 28, is expecting her first child through a music video released on Thursday for his song “Temporary,” featuring Skylar Grey.
In a touching moment from the video, Jade, who is a musical artist and podcaster, presents her father with a blue shirt that has “Grandpa” printed on the back. Eminem, taken aback, then holds up a sonogram photo while Jade beams with joy at his reaction.
The music video features a nostalgic montage of childhood home videos of Jade alongside recent footage from her wedding to Evan McClintock. Eminem expresses his dedication to Jade through heartfelt lyrics about the cycle of life, rapping, “So Hailie Jade, I wrote this song to help you cope with life when I’m gone.”
Following the video’s release, Jade shared a series of photos on her Instagram, showing her and McClintock admiring the sonogram. She announced that their baby is due next year.
Jade and McClintock began dating in 2016, got engaged in February 2023, and tied the knot in May. In a prior Instagram post, Jade reflected on their wedding, saying, “Waking up a wife this week. We couldn’t have asked for a better, more beautiful weekend celebration. So so many happy tears were shed, laughs & smiles were had, & so much love was felt.”
This will be the couple’s first child.
