Eminem is embracing a new chapter in his life as he prepares to become a grandfather. The rapper revealed the exciting news about his daughter Hailie Jade, 28, expecting her first child through a music video for his song “Temporary,” which features Skylar Grey, released on Thursday.
In the video, Hailie, who is also a musician and podcaster, surprises her father with a blue shirt that has “Grandpa” printed on the back. Eminem’s surprise is evident as he holds up a sonogram photo while Hailie shares a joyful moment, laughing at his reaction.
The footage includes a heartwarming montage of childhood videos showcasing Hailie’s journey with Eminem, alongside clips from her recent wedding to Evan McClintock. Eminem dedicates the song to Hailie, sharing poignant lyrics about life’s journey: “So Hailie Jade, I wrote this song to help you cope with life when I’m gone.”
Following the video’s premiere, Hailie took to Instagram to share photos with McClintock as they look at the sonogram, announcing their baby is due next year. Hailie and Evan have been in a relationship since 2016, got engaged in February 2023, and tied the knot in May.
In her Instagram post at the time of their wedding, Hailie expressed her joy, stating, “Waking up a wife this week. We couldn’t have asked for a better, more beautiful weekend celebration. So so many happy tears were shed, laughs & smiles were had, & so much love was felt.”
This will be Hailie and Evan’s first child together.
